ABOUT ME

John Hoekstra in suit at desk

I received my undergraduate degree from Carthage College in 1980 and my law degree at the University of Iowa in 1983. Within the same year, I was admitted to the Iowa Bar, and subsequently, the Illinois Bar in 1984. I am also licensed to practice in the US District Court, Central District and the US Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. After receiving my law degree, I practiced for and became a partner in a large insurance defense law firm where I concentrated in defending insurance companies on personal injury and workers' compensation claims. Over the course of tens years, I defended my insurance clients on these claims, developing extensive trial and litigation experience. Dealing with and defending insurance companies have provided me with a wealth of experience and insight on how to guide you to the maximum results on your claim.

In 1995, I moved to Central Illinois to begin representing the rights of injury victims. I have built a successful private practice based on referrals from past clients and others who know of my reputation for quality and professional legal services. I now have more than 30 years of trial and litigation experience in virtually every area of the law. Through the years, I have obtained well over $7 million in settlements, workers' compensation awards, and verdicts for my clients.
